A BOX JOURNEY
What happens to a box after you drop it off
at DHL? Where does it go? How do millions of packages being shipped across the
world arrive at their destination in only a few days or weeks? These are the
questions we attempted to answer the past semester with second and third ESO in the tech lessons.
After giving a presentation explaining how packages are sorted and moved
through each shipping facility, students were challenged to create a box with
items that represented Spain. They were also tasked with writing a letter to
explain the project and why each item represented Spain. The group of students
with the best box and letter would have their box shipped to the United States
(my parent’s home) to further demonstrate the process. Three beautiful boxes
were submitted, and it was very difficult to choose which one deserved to go to
the U.S. In the end, we chose a simpler box because of its elegance and
representation of the key elements of Spanish culture.

CELEBRATING CONSTITUTION DAY
Every 6th December we commemorate Constitution Day in our school. This year, our language assistant Katie has explained our students the main aspects of the American Constitution so that they could get a full comparison between both Constitutions, arising interesting discussions among students in 4º ESO C.

Hello there, this is Rufino Herrera, Industrial Design Engineer and I’ll be

and construction materials- like cement, ceramics, glass-, and,
electricity and electronics, computers and information technologies, the
Internet, programming, robotics...; and we will use many tools to create and
construct some real projects, like toy cars, bridges, elevators, and even how
to create basic videogames!
I hope you’ll enjoy with me and Katie in this subject, and you learn how to
solve real life problems using science and technology!
Thank you very much!

Let’s make yourself an active person. Work out and enjoy
Hello everyone! I'm so excited to be here with you in Spain! I've dreamed about coming to Spain for many years and I can honestly say that the first few weeks here have far exceeded my expectations. I was overwhelmed by the kindness of all Spanish people I've met; especially the teachers at IES Los Pedroches. Because of their warm welcome I have been able to make a smooth transition into life in Spain. All the students are wonderful, and I know that we are going to have a great year learning English together!.
